Since 2016, WCF and its partners have relied on research to help identify opportunities to develop a better economic and talent-development system in our region. At right is our executive summary of the first two reports.

Building Opportunity and Growth - Labor Market and Talent Development (FutureWorks 2018) examines long-term economic projections and labor market data.

Education, Employment & Opportunities for Young Adults Aged 16-25 in Mount Vernon New Rochelle, and Yonkers (JobsFirstNYC 2019) focuses on critical gaps for young residents in those cities.

Connecting to Promising Careers: Middle-Skill Jobs in the Lower Hudson Valley (Westchester Community College and NYC Labor Market Information Service 2016) identified promising middle-skill fields in the Lower Hudson Valley.

Readers are encouraged to consider the findings in these reports in conjunction with the Westchester County Housing Needs Assessment (Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress 2019), the U.S. Private Sector Job Quality Index (Cornell Law School 2019), and the A.L.I.C.E. (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) data for Westchester and Putnam counties (United Way of New York State 2018).
