Purpose

To build and sustain strong communities and create economic opportunities in low-income neighborhoods through programs that provide:

• Job training and development for low-income residents;
• Financial literacy for small businesses;
• Skills for the attainment of English language literacy;
• Assistance with affordable housing maintenance and ownership, including pre and post-sale counseling to provide individuals with information and skills to responsibly maintain their homes and manage household finances;
• Enhancement of the capacity of community development organizations to function effectively.

Grant range

$10,000 - $20,000

Eligibility

Nonprofit organizations in Westchester County.

Reporting

Grantees must submit six-month and year-end progress and expenditure reports. Specific instructions are provided after grants are awarded.

2010 Deadlines:

Letters of Inquiry - June 11, 2010

Invited Proposals - July 23, 2010

Awards will be announced first week of October, 2010.
